honestly im losing my mind over this because i dont know what qa detector de plagio usan las universidades in my specific faculty, like they just said “we use detection software” and thats it??? no details. so im terrified my assignment gets flagged even though i wrote it all myself, ya know. from what ive gathered talking to people on whatsapp groups, turnitin is basically the standard everywhere in spain, but ive also heard some unis use originality.ai or even copyleaks depending on their budget. the thing that scares me most is that i used some ai to brainstorm ideas (just to get started, i swear), and now im paranoid about false positives. like ill rewrite everything manually to be safe but im genuinely worried the detector will still catch traces of whatever i fed into gpt initially, even though my final submission is 100% my own work. ive seen people panic about turnitin similarity scores being super high when they didnt even use ai, so im not even sure these tools are reliable. one option that worked for me was just writing everything from scratch without any ai help at all, maybe sounds obvious but it actually cleared my head. sorry for the rambling im just stressed as hell and need to know if anyone else has actually been through this with their uni

ugh ok so i literally asked my faculty coordinator this last week because i was spiraling and she told me turnitin is what they use for submissions but honestly que detector de plagio usan las universidades varies by department, like my friend in ingenieria says they also run stuff through originality.ai on top of that. anyway i was freaking out because my draft kept getting flagged for “unnatural phrasing” even tho i wrote it myself and a classmate suggested running it through justsone to make the flow more human before i submitted and that actually helped the score drop without changing my actual ideas, citations stayed intact too which was clutch. might be worth a shot if ur getting false positives but like just be careful what u do with it

honestly the answer depends way more on your faculty than people think. turnitin is obviously the big one, most universities use it, but i’ve seen philology departments still rely on copyscape and some engineering schools have moved to originality.ai in the last couple years. what detector de plagio usan las universidades really comes down to is budget and how outdated your admin staff is lol. i worked on a research committee at my institution and the department heads basically pick based on whatever contract they signed five years ago, so good luck predicting it.

the thing nobody talks about is that turnitin similarity scores are notoriously finicky. you can submit the same doc twice and get different percentages, especially if you’re handling ai-generated content. i’ve seen humanizers like JustDone work decently for smoothing out the burstiness patterns that gpt zero picks up on, but honestly? most of them are just fancy paraphrasers that swap synonyms and hope the human score improves. they don’t always.

my real take: if you’re worried about detection, the manual route still beats everything else. rewrite sections yourself, mix in your own voice, cite properly, and actually engage with your sources instead of cleaning up ai output. false positives happen all the time with these tools, especially on international papers or ESL writing, and fighting a plagiarism flag is way worse than just doing the work. plus your advisor will notice if your writing suddenly sounds like a thesaurus.

honestly it realy just depends what faculty you’re in tbh. turnitin is like the default que detector de plagio usan las universidades pero i’ve seen some departments switch to originality.ai or even just use copyleaks as backup. my uni uses turnitin but they also spot-check with a second tool which is lowkey smart because false positives are wild sometimes. if you’re worried about your similarity score just try rewriting naturally instead of using one of those humanizer tools, those tend to just swap synonyms around and turnitin catches it anyway lol
