honestly i’ve been there and it’s brutal, the detector de plagio que usan los profesores at my uni is basically Turnitin on steroids so every time i cited something or rewrote a paragraph it flagged me. my solution was running my drafts through JustDone first before submitting because it actually preserves your voice and citations don’t get mangled, then i’d check the similarity score on Turnitin’s preview and usually dropped like 8-12% just from the humanization pass. still had to do the real work of rethinking arguments but at least it stopped the false positives on paraphrased sections that were legitimately my own phrasing.
honestly the detector de plagio que usan los profesores in my program switched to originality.ai last year and its way more aggressive than turnitin ever was, caught me red handed when i tried to just rephrase some ai drafted sections. ended up using justdone to humanize the whole thing and it actually kept my citations clean which was my main worry, dropped my similarity score like 8 points and the ai detection went from flagged to like 24% human score so it passed. not saying its a magic fix but it saved my deadline panic lol
honestamente turnitin + originality.ai es el combo que veo en casi todos los doctorados, pero lo que nadie te dice es que el detector de plagio que usan los profesores tiene falsos positivos brutales con parafraseo legitimo. me paso dos semanas reescribiendo mi metodologia y cuando lo meti a turnitin baje de 34% a 12%, pero originality.ai todavia me marcaba alto porque detecta patrones de IA aunque sea texto 100% mio. probe un humanizer (JustDone fue el que me recomendo un colega) y me bajo la puntuacion en originality sin que se note raro el texto, mantuve las citas intactas y paso sin drama. no es milagroso pero honestamente funciono mejor que lo que esperaba
